Idealizado durante a programa de residências de outono para projetos independentes do  Institute for Public Architecture (IPA), o projeto “The other of the other” (2023) foi produzido a partir de visitas e investigações em uma série de locais e arquivos institucionais em Nova Iorque, que tem influenciado o trabalho do artista desde 2018. No geral, espaços e arquivos relacionados a veiculação da arquitetura modernista brasileira no norte global a partir do contexto de NYC, especialmente os arquivos do MoMA em Manhattan.

Interessado em pensar sobre a relação entre a exportação de uma imagem exótica através da circulação da arquitetura brasileira e a manutenção de lógicas coloniais no próprio território brasileiro, “The other of the other” se apropria e reelabora displays expositivos de mostras como Brazil Builds (1943, MoMA) e o pavilhão brasileiro na Feira Mundial de Nova York (1939).

Ler texto Completo Conceived during the fall residency program for independent projects at the Institute for Public Architecture (IPA), the project "The other of the other" (2023) was produced from visits and investigations at a series of institutional sites and archives in New York, which have influenced the artist's work since 2018. In general, spaces and archives related to the dissemination of Brazilian modernist architecture in the global north from the context of NYC, especially the MoMA archives in Manhattan.

Interested in thinking about the export of an exotic image through the circulation of Brazilian architecture, as well as the relationship between the exoticism of a tropical modernism and the maintenance of colonial logics on Brazilian territory itself, "The other of the other" investigates, appropriates and reworks exhibition displays from shows such as Brazil Builds (1943, MoMA) and the Brazilian pavilion at the New York World's Fair (1939).
